What to Expect on a Guided Fossil Walk
Things to Know
Fossil walks on Dorset's Jurassic Coast
Join me for a private fossil walk at one of several locations on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset. This 95-mile stretch is world famous for its fossils, and much of the coastline is quieter than people expect.
The aim on my walks is to educate, and then give you time and space to explore properly, without the crowds that often dominate the better known locations.
These walks are more than just learning how and where to look for fossils. We will also take time to understand the rocks underfoot, how the coastline changes, and what makes a fossil stand out once you know what you are seeing. There is no rush, no pressure to find something and plenty of encouragement to ask questions.
Private Fossil Walks
Price £190 per group
Duration 3 to 4 hours
Group size up to 8 people
Fixed price of £190 for a group of up to 8 people, with larger groups by prior arrangement.
These walks are great for families, couples, individuals, and education groups. Pace and route are adjusted on the day to suit the group, the conditions, and the tide. The focus is also on recognising and understanding fossils in their geological setting, rather than just collecting.
